WQAD-TV 3 Degree Guarantee
Eriksen Chevrolet-Buick sponsors the WQAD-TV 3 Degree Guarantee charitable donation program, which airs nightly on WQAD-TV/Channel 8 and appears during the weathercast during the 10PM News. For each time the Channel 8 weather team forecasts the correct high temperature for that day (within 3 degrees) Eriksen Chevrolet-Buick donates $20.00 to a cumulative charitable fund.
The total donation for September, 2014 was $500, and the recipient was Knox College - Blessings in a Backpack Program. Starting in 2010, a group of Knox College students took the initiative to bring Blessings in a Backpack to Galesburg. The Blessings in a Backpack program takes the simple idea of providing daily food for a child's overall well-being and tries to make this idea a reality for elementary school students who don't always receive this basic necessity.
