Eriksens in the Community
WQAD-TV 3 Degree GuaranteeEriksen Chevrolet-Buick sponsors the WQAD-TV 3 Degree Guarantee charitable donation program, which airs nightly on WQAD-TV/Channel 8 and appears during the weathercast during the 10PM News. For each time the Channel 8 weather team forecasts the correct high temperature for that day (within 3 degrees) Eriksen Chevrolet- Buick Inc. donates $20.00 to a cumulative charitable fund.
The total donation for March, 2013 was $500.00, and the recipient was New Kingdom Trailriders. New Kingdom Trailriders is an equine assisted therapeutic riding program for disabled individuals. About 80% of the riders are children, but riders age 3 and up are accepted. NKT has been providing safe, therapeutic riding for over 25 years in the IA/IL Quad Cities region. They have worked with riders that have autism, ADHD, ADD, Cerebral Palsey, Mental Retardation, Multiple Sclerosis, Spina Bifida, stroke and many other disabilities. They do not receive any federal or state funding, relying on donations and local foundation grants for program support and are operated primarily by volunteers. To learn more about NKT, visit their website at http://nktriders.org/
